Coven Host

Job Title: Coven Host

Job Description: As a Coven host you will be representing The Coven brand in your city (Bristol) and will be the face that our event attendees and members get to know in your area.

Although small, this is a really fun and exciting role with your main responsibility being to attend all Coven events (you will have a minimum of one event and a maximum of three events per month for which you will need to be available for all events every month, most take place in the evenings or weekends).

Your job will be to greet people at our events, get to know regular attendees and members, answer any questions people may have about The Coven, introduce the event, The Coven and yourself at the beginning of the evening with a microphone and giving a goodbye talk at the end of the evening.

Alongside this you will liaise with the venue staff on the evening to ensure everything is running smoothly and equally lend a hand in the set up beforehand and set down afterwards should the venue need it.

Skills needed:

You must be bright, bubbly, polite and confident when standing in front of a room full of people (you could have up to 200 attendees, all of whom could be strangers). You must be a people person and comfortable talking to new people and happy to be centre of attention at certain points of the night.

There may be times, for example at a panel event when you will be the interviewer of the panel, you must be happy to do this and again comfortable talking in public.

The perfect person for this role will be able to react quickly to anything that goes wrong at an event and use your initiative to deal with it, The Coven team will be available by phone and email at all times to assist with this.

Things to note:

Please note you do not need any events experience, nor do you need to be working in the events industry or have any dreams of becoming an event organiser. You will not be required to do any of the organisation of the event, any planning or any pre or post work on the event. Our head of events will deal with all of this for you, we simply need you to be our bright and bubbly host on the night.

You must be reliable and available every month, this role isn’t suitable for someone who travels a lot for work or takes a lot of long holidays which would affect them being able to attend the events. You will be told the event dates in advance so that you can work around your current situation.

Is the job paid? Yes, £50 per event with the potential for the role to grow and the pay to rise.
